To commemorate World Mental Health Day 2025, IQAC and Mental Health and Wellbeing Cell, Tezpur College organized a popular talk titled “Mental Health Awareness: Prevention & Promotion”, in collaboration with Lokopriya Gopinath Bordoloi Regional Institute of Mental Health (LGBRIMH), Tezpur. The aim of the program is to poster psychological wellbeing and promoting preventive strategies among students. Dr. Priyadarshee Abhishek, Assistant Professor in the Department of Clinical Psychology at LGBRIMH, served as the resource person and delivered an insightful session emphasizing early intervention, destigmatization of mental health issues, and the pivotal role of educational institutions in nurturing emotional resilience. Held at the I.P. Choudhury Hall, the program featured interactive discussions on coping mechanisms, peer support, and the importance of mental health as a cornerstone of overall wellbeing. The initiative successfully raised awareness, encouraged open dialogue, and reinforced the need for sustained mental health literacy and advocacy within academic settings.
