The Department of Education at Tezpur College was started in 1965. Until now, the department has offered general and major courses in Education at the degree level and as a subject at the H.S. level. Initially, Mrs Achala Borah was in charge of the department. She was the first teacher in the department. At present, the department has four faculty members, one of whom is an associate professor. It has been continuously striving to introduce innovations in its academic programmes. The department has a library and a well-equipped laboratory. The department also conducts seminars, workshops, group discussions, etc. to encourage creative thinking and foster the scientific temperament of the students.
