The National Science Day 2025 at Tezpur College commenced with the lighting of the lamp by the resource person, Principal, and Vice Principal. This symbolic gesture marked the beginning of a day filled with scientific engagement and learning.
The event was inaugurated with a welcoming address by the Principal Dr. Manoj Kumar Hazarika, followed by an invited talk from Dr. Kishor Baruah, a distinguished faculty member from the Department of Physics, Tezpur University. Dr. Baruah captivated the audience with his vast scientific knowledge, sparking curiosity and stimulating engaging discussions among students. His insightful presentation encouraged students to ask questions, leading to meaningful exchanges on various scientific topics. Two students from the dept of physics – Ankita Kalita and Dhunuki Rabha gave a beautiful presentation on the topic “ Scatterring of light”. Parallely, a poster competition was held, and Mr. Ripunjoy Sarmah, a 2nd-semester student from the Department of Chemistry, won the first prize for his impressive poster. The day continued with an exciting Open House Quiz competition conducted by Dr. Tonuj Deka, Assistant Professor from the Department of Physics. The quiz was a lively and engaging activity where participants answered questions and won prizes, keeping the atmosphere vibrant and fun.
The event culminated with the prize distribution ceremony, followed by a vote of thanks by Dr. Satyajit Dey Baruah, the Academic Vice Principal of Science. The entire program was anchored by Dr. Hridisha Nandana Hazarika, who ensured the smooth flow of the proceedings.
