A thoughtful lecture was celebrated in collaboration with the Assamese Department and Internal Quality Assessment Cell of Tezpur College on the occassion of International Mother tongue day. The event started with the Bargit of Mayuri Tati and was attended by the students including the Principal, Vice-Principal and Professor Professors of the college. The event was hosted by Dr. Ishanjyoti Gogoi and the Principal of the college, Dr. Manoj Kumar Hazarika, spoke about the greatness of the mother tongue. Dr. Hazarika also mentioned that the importance of the mother tongue of the Assamese has increased after receiving classical recognition. Dr. Rajalakshmi Sonwal, coordinator of the internal standard cell, presented the brief introduction to Dr. Suresh Kumar Arya. The event was attended by Professor Dr. Suresh Kumar Arya, retired Head of Assamese Department and gave a nutritional speech on the importance of the Assamese language at present. In his long speech, Dr. Arya mentioned how the mother tongue contributes to the development and progress of a nation, citing the epic Ramayana and the epic Ramayana and Rabindranath Tagore. The program was attended by a large number of students from the Assamese department. The program was attended by a number of students from the Assamese department. In association with the program, the students from department of Assamese performed the song "Siro Senehi Mur Bhakha Jononi". The program ends with vote of thanks given by Ms. Mitali Saikia HOD of Assamese.
