On 28th February 2024, National Science Day was celebrated for the first time in the Department of Physics, Tezpur College. Students and faculty from various college departments actively participated in the programs conducted during the celebration. Mrs. Rita Saikia Dutta, Vice Principal, Tezpur College, Dr Rajlakshmi Sonowal, IQAC Coordinator, and Mrs. Rupali Daimari, HoD, Department of History were among the guests who attended the program. An essay competition was organized on the topic "Role of Science in Daily Life" for the Science Day celebration. The result of this was declared during the program. Mr. Layan Chetry (1st Prize, Department of Physics), Miss Hemashri Daimari (2nd Prize, Department of Physics), Miss Prerana Bhattarai (3rd Prize, Department of Mathematics), and Mr Raunak Kumar Jha (Consolation, Department of Chemistry) were adjudged the winners among 22 participants. The department students presented a handmade model of the NASA space shuttle. Dr Debojyoti Nath, HoD, Department of Physics gave a presentation on the Raman Effect and its importance in daily life. Dr. Tonuj Deka organized an open Science Quiz Competition among the students and faculty.
