A group of students of B.A. 5th Sem, from Department of Geography embarked on an educational excursion to Sikkim from 19/10/2024 to 23/10/2024. The trip was organized to provide students with an opportunity to explore the natural beauty, culture, and historical significance of Sikkim.
The students, accompanied by teachers, visited several popular destinations, including Gangtok, Tsomgo Lake, Nathula Pass, Baba harbhajan Mandir, etc. They also explored Buddhist monasteries learning about the rich cultural heritage of the region. The group enjoyed breathtaking views of the snow-capped mountains and lush green valleys. They also had the chance to experience the local cuisine and interact with the residents, gaining insights into the traditions and lifestyle of the Sikkimese people.
The excursion was highly informative, as students learned about Sikkim’s biodiversity, geography, and history. Visits to the monasteries provided valuable knowledge about Buddhism and its influence on the region. The students also gained a deeper appreciation for environmental conservation, as Sikkim is known for its eco-friendly practices.
